"I loved the ending; give me an HEA and I’m a very happy reader. But I did not, in any way, find the ending trite or contrived. It works very well because it’s the only possible ending that Dave and Kyle could have. I feel that their personalities definitely determined how the story would end... or is that begin a new chapter? Would I love to revisit these two again? Very much so.
Ms. Lane does a fantastic job drawing the reader in, moving the story along with enough mystery to keep the reader hooked and then propelling us into the finale. Impressed? Oh man, am I! And I can hardly wait to get my hands on the next Shawn Lane book. With the excellence of Beyond the Norm in my mind, I’m very much looking forward to meeting more of her men... and soon!"

"ONLY IN HIS DREAMS is an easy read with Lane’s classic trademark characters and little enough angst to give it a bit of clout. As always the striking thing about Ms. Lane’s work is the wealth of information that she packs into a relatively short book. I could not have asked for more information about any of the protags, just enough was given to catch up on their life’s up to that point. The supporting cast filtered in enough scenes to make an impact without being overly intrusive and some timely sarcastic humour was well placed to ensure that I fell in love with at least one of the cast members.

Barnaby has spiked hair, earrings and makeup, while Nathan is conservative pinstripes. Each has been secretly lusting after the other until Nathan is ill, and Barnaby is dispatched from the office to take him a file, but ends up taking care of him.
